Summing up the best in college football at this late date is a challenge. • Houston might be the best team in Texas. • On the whole, the state of Oklahoma is having a heck of lot better year than the state of Alabama. • The Rust Belt is holding its own against the Sun Belt. • The Pac-12 is seemingly out of the College Football Playoff race before the midway point of November. There are 14 teams remaining with one or no losses. Only two of them are from the SEC (Alabama, Florida). That doesn't mean the Strength Everywhere Conference is out of anything.
